Oct. 2, "Netherfield Park is Let at Last! The World of Jane Austen." Day of lectures and discussion on Austen, her novels, and on the art, history and culture of her time. University of Chicago Graham School. 9:45 AM to 5 PM. Tuition: $115. Registration begins July 28.
Nov. 7, "Jane Austen and the Body" with Dr. Cheryl Kinney and Dr. Elisabeth Lenckos will be featured at the Chicago Humanities Festival Harold Washington Library, 3:30‑4:30 PM. Information on the 2010 festival will be on their website in August. Priority registration to Chicago Humanities Festival members.

Masterpiece on PBS.org has a downloadable Teacher's Guide that "offers ideas and tips on how to teach the works of Jane Austen, using film as another avenue into her world.… Sections that explore universal themes–Novel to Film, the Art of Adaptation, Self-Discovery, Society and the Self, Satire and Irony–provide questions and activities that can be used for any of Austen's works."
